As the saying goes, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb! This was sure the case this Spring as I scheduled various photo shoots. But the one that had to be most timely was an engagement session that I only had a couple days that could work because the groom was flying in for the occasion and then the couple was heading out of town shortly thereafter. Talk about a tight schedule! Well, the Gods were definitely with me when we scheduled this session. It rained for several days before the photo shoot and then it rained for an entire week the day after!
Shane, the groom to be, is a high school teacher in rural Alaska. And when I say rural, I mean, RURAL. He lives and teaches in a tiny community in the ‘Bush’. Rebekah, the bride to be, is a Nurse in the military. They met through an online dating resource and immediately hit it off. Both love helping others, the outdoors and spending time with their church group and their families.
The day of their photo shoot could not have been any more perfect. Winds were calm and the rain had disappeared for the day which allowed us to take in the splendor of Spring bursting with color. We even did a series of shots with a water fountain (not realizing the significance and hidden meaning behind this!).
Their big day is coming up fast and I am looking forward to capturing it for them before they start their life together as husband and wife living (temporarily) in the Alaska Bush. What an adventure!
