Rebekah & Shane | Engagement Session

UC Davis Arboretum | By Kristina Cilia Photography | Vacaville Photographer

Recently, I heard a song while driving in the car that made me reflect back on an engagement photo shoot that happened several months ago. Have you ever heard of the song “Hey there Delilah” by The Plain White T’s? It’s a romantic song about a guy in love with a girl but they live far, far apart from one another. It’s definitely one of my favs!

Well, that song made me think of a couple who recently got married (blog post coming soon!) but endured a long distance relationship and engagement (he lived in the Alaskan Bush and she lived in California!). While I am in the process of editing their wedding photos I’ll share a couple more images from their Spring engagement session. We had such a lovely time wandering the grounds of the UC Davis Arboretum. Plants and trees were just coming into bloom and we found an awesome fountain! Plus, it was the only day that whole week when it did not rain (Phew!)!

If you haven’t heard the song look it up on Spotify or I-tunes and give it a listen. I’ll share a few lines from the song below that made me think of this couple and their long distance relationship…

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they’ve got planes and trains and cars
I’d walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
And we’d just laugh along because we’d know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah, I can promise you
That by the time that we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you’re to blame

…(long sigh) ❤ ❤ ❤
