Class of 2019 – It’s Time for Senior Pictures!

Senior Portrait Sessions | Vacaville Senior Photographer | By Kristina Cilia Photography

I have been fielding questions lately from parents about senior portraits. Many of you have received that letter in the mail about scheduling portraits through the schools contracted photographer. If you’re the parent of an upcoming Class of 2019 Senior here are a few things you should know about having those senior portraits taken.

1. You Have a Choice!
These days many schools will make you use the schools contracted photographer for the yearbook image. However, you DO NOT need to use them for the rest of your senior pictures. Be sure to schedule your session with the contracted school photographer in order to get your photo in the yearbook AND then schedule your senior portrait session with any photographer you’d like for the rest of your senior pictures.

2. An Important Time – Senior Year
Parents, Senior Year is the culmination of the last 17 years that you have spent raising and molding this human being into an amazing young adult. This will probably be the last time for you to have professional photos taken of them. After that, the next time they will probably have professional photos taken of them will be for their engagement or wedding! Don’t miss out on capturing them before they leave home.

3. Choose a Professional to Photograph You and Print Your Photos
Now is not the moment to cut corners during this important time by having a friend or family member take some shots. Choose a professional whose work you admire and hire them to capture those special moments for you of your senior. Also, make sure to purchase some professional products to show off those incredible senior images that you can proudly display in your home or office and give as gifts to family members. In other words, don’t let those memories die on that CD or USB of digital files lying in the drawer. Get your images printed!

4. Choosing Your Photographer
I want to capture your son or daughters style when I photograph their senior portraits. The process will begin with a consultation to find out who they are (ie: interests, likes) and together we can design a session that will reflect their personality. We will also discuss clothing choices and accessories (this ranges from jewelry, sports equipment, pets, etc) and come up with a location to best reflect all of this. Like Fall colors or Spring flowers? Urban or country backdrops? Whatever you choose, my goal is for you to have a fun and amazing experience while I capture a variety of incredible images of you!

So, you can choose to have your senior portraits taken by the contracted school yearbook photographer (and have them look like all your other grade school photos) or choose a photographer who will capture some amazing portraits of you during a fun experience.

I’d love to discuss your senior’s style with you and help you personalize their senior portrait experience. Give me a call to schedule your senior’s photo session.
